Richard has been a professional photographer for over twenty years, and has been fortunate enough to travel the world making pictures and exhibiting his work in the US and abroad. Born in rural South England, Richard completed a Bachelor of Arts in Photography Studies at the University of Derby, and he has since lived in London and New York City. After 15 years of city living, Richard now calls the Hudson Valley and Catskill mountains his home, finding this beautiful region to be a constant source of inspiration and transformation. His move has provided a welcomed opportunity to return to landscape photography. His current work is focused on the materials of the landscape and the people that live and work with them. In a time of uncertain environmental factors, Richard’s work explores the themes and tensions of land use, habitat and wilderness.
